originally from Philadelphia, PA, US

Emma Kienitz Sniegowski began her dance training at age three at Swarthmore Ballet Theatre under the instruction of Lori Ardis, Amber Flynn, Aimee Kitchin, and artists of the Pennsylvania Ballet. She trained and performed in classical ballet and modern techniques at Swarthmore Ballet Theatre until age 18, performing principal roles in The Nutcracker, The Firebird, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Cinderella and choreographing a total of eight pieces for the company's yearly Ballet a la Moderne performance.

Emma graduated from Kenyon College in 2018 with a BA in French, Mandarin Chinese, and International Studies. At Kenyon she trained in ballet, modern dance, West African dance, and contemporary dance history under Kora Radella, Balinda Craig-Quijada, Julie Brodie, and Elliot Mercer among others. She performed in the annual fall and spring dance concerts and choreographed and presented two pieces to original music written by fellow student artists. In 2016 she spent four months studying in Paris, France and training at the Centre de Danse du Marais under Ghislain de Compreignac.

Since graduating Emma has greatly enjoyed immersing herself in the New York dance scene, taking classes in ballet, modern, contemporary, and improvisation. When not dancing Emma works in non-profit development for an international human rights organization, tutors and teaches students of all ages in French, and is an avid reader and city explorer.
