FITIAVANA
FITIAVANA (formerly Esperanto) is a solo choreographed and performed by Gwen Rakotovao. Originally from Madagascar and raised in France, Gwen brings a diasporic perspective to her work. Gwen's inspiration for FITIAVANA came from her personal experience of being born and growing up in a different environment than the land of her ancestor. In FITIAVANA, she explores the points of friction that reveal themselves when a human being grows in between two different cultures. Altogether, the dance and the body express the weight of personal stories.
